ARRIVING ON SITE
Little Elses Glamping is accessed from the main road by a track with natural hedgerow on the right and a fenced paddock on the left. We ask that you follow this track as it bends slightly to the right, and you’ll meet some wooden gates which are operated remotely by ourselves. Please ring the buzzer here and come to the main house to check in.
The driveway to the house is well surfaced and easy to navigate.
After check in we will ask you to return back to the electric wooden gates and turn right onto the glamping track.
As you progress down to the tents, the track is edged with natural hedgerow on the right which borders our woodland, with a fenced wildflower meadow on the left. This track from the road to the tents is a public footpath, so you may encounter individuals on foot. If you are driving, please drive slowly (max speed 5mph).
At the entrance to the bell tent area is a manually operated wooden gate. We encourage guests to park here and progress to the tents on foot, however if driving to the tents is necessary for you, we request you make us aware of this before your arrival so that we can place you in an appropriate tent for your needs.
The parking area is a level grass area with some uneven places. This is also the case for the mown track up to your tent, which we ask to be taken on foot preferably. Please note there is limited lighting between the car park and the tents, so we do encourage guests to arrive before dark. If a torch is needed, this can be provided.
THE BELL TENT
We have 3 bell tents, each of which has its own clear mowed area for your enjoyment and privacy. They are spaced approx 15-20 metres apart. Your bell tent (6m diameter) is accessed off the track with clear mown pathways. Please keep to these pathways and mown areas at all times, or the wildflowers and grasses we keep long and natural will be squashed and die.
Your tent is off-grid and accessed by a double layer zipped up entrance. Unzip the tent flaps, and enter by stepping up approx. 20cm and over the threshold. The interior has coir matted flooring which is in 2 half moon pieces. The join runs through the centre of the tent and is easily identified by brown edging, so please be careful of this.
The tent is full standing height in the middle, but as you utilise spaces around the sides, you may have to duck a little, depending on your height, as the walls of the tent slope downwards.
There are no electricity points on site. All lighting is solar or rechargeable battery powered. You are provided fairy lights on your central pole, a camping lantern and a solar lantern. There is no wifi, but 4G is available.
There is no heating in the tents due to condensation and the risk of irreparable damage to the tent fabric. We supply lots of blankets as standard, and additional blankets and hot water bottles can be requested. We encourage guests who are staying early or late in the season to bring extra layers/hats/gloves/warm clothing just in case.
Exterior to your tent you will have a mown area to sit with your firepit, and also a secondary area with a picnic bench and umbrella. This is all mown so the boundaries are clear.
Please take care anywhere on site if it is early morning, or after rain, as you may find the grass is slippery.
SHOWER/TOILET FACILITIES
These can be accessed on foot along the same track you used to get to your tent. The surface is grass, so might be uneven in places.
The shower is a purpose built unit with hot water. Inside the unit there is also a bench for sitting, if needed, hooks for hanging items and a mirror. There is also a shower curtain and a window. This window has a film covering it, which means you can see out but no one can see in, however a blind is also provided if you prefer privacy. Please note, the film does not protect your privacy if used at night.
To access the shower, you will need to step up a height of approx. 40cm.
The toilet is a purpose built unit with a two step access. The toilet flushes and is just like a regular toilet you would have at home.
Hand washing facilities are outside the unit, directly opposite. This unit was upcycled by us to provide an area where people can wash their items up easily.
There is a small white sink, and we provide eco-friendly handwash for you to wash your hands. Around the front of this unit you’ll find the washing up area for plates/cups etc…eco-friendly washing up liquid is provided here and can be found in the pump on the wall of the unit. We recommend bringing the black washing up bowl from your tent, squirting the washing up liquid into the bowl and placing this into the stainless-steel sink provided to wash up.
There is also kitchen worktop in this area of standard height. Please note there is no hot water on site, except in the shower.
